PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL RETURNS TO USA STADIUM IN MILLINGTON, TN

MILLINGTON, TN (April 4, 2017) - We are pleased to announce that the National Urban Professional Baseball League will be bringing a Professional Baseball Team to USA Stadium in Millington, Tennessee in the spring of 2018. The league is open to baseball players 17 years old and older who have baseball talent.  The participants will be paid. The National Urban Professional Baseball League will offer an eight week fall league in Arizona, September through October 2017.  Tryouts for the teams will begin in May, 2017.  The creation of this professional Baseball League is designed to provide family entertainment and honor the history and memories of past African America baseball players.

 

This league in “NO WAY” will be limited to only African America players.  The NUPBL will seek out the best baseball players from across the United States and the World regardless of their ethnic backgrounds. Teams will be formed by selecting players from across the United States and the World to makeup these teams by way of open try-outs. We are looking for excitement, enthusiasm and support for this team from the East, the West, the North and the South,” said Coach Mike Mayden.

 “The City of Millington welcomes the National Urban Professional Baseball League to USA Stadium in Millington,” said Terry Jones, Millington Mayor.  “Millington has an extensive baseball history.  We look forward to adding the National Urban Professional Baseball League to our proud baseball history,” said Mayor Jones.  The professional baseball league will supplement an already impressive USA Stadium tournament schedule, resulting in a positive economic impact on the area, increased visitors and more opportunities for affordable, family friendly fun in Millington.      


GENERAL LEAGUE INFORMATION:
 Ninety game schedule 
May through August in addition to league play-offs 
45 away games/45 home games
 6 games per week
15 three game home stands 
Teams located within 250 - 350 miles 

 TEAM INFORMATION
Team (s) will consist of 
1 team manager
2 coaches
24 players per team
The league is open to baseball players 17 years old and (that have completed or will be completing their H.S. eligibility). 
All participants will receive monetary compensation 
Tryouts for each team will begin in May, 2017
We will offer an eight week fall league in Arizona, to be held in September, 2017 through October, 2017.
The league starts in the spring of 2018.
